The Pigment Coloured Silver is created by taking a genuine silver leaf and then covering it completely in a coloured dye which is made from plastic resin.
This will give the leaf a colourful and rich finish in a range of bright colours. The coloured Pigment silver leaf is often used to create various types of artworks including glass gilding and interior art works.

There are a few points to be aware of when using the coloured silver leaf pigment leaf. The coloured silver may fade if it is not sealed correctly, it can also fade if it is not protected from UV light. In order to protect the colour of the pigment coloured silver over time a sealer should be used
If the silver leaf is exposed to any friction, then there is a chance that this could chip away at the dye resulting in the leaf to dull in colour. The coloured silver is more fragile than standard silver leaf and will need to be handled with care in order to prevent any damage. No alcohol-based sealants should be used on the leaf as this may dissolve some of the coating on the dye.
